As I grow older (and one would hope wiser) the need for social media and its meaning has changed for me quite considerably. Perhaps it’s my age, or maybe that I am tired of reading people complain about everything under the miraculous sky, failing to see all that is beautiful beneath it. Facebook was once an outlet. A means of seeking attention and gratification. Now, its use for me lies only in the opportunity to connect with kindred spirits across the globe and keep in touch with friends and family back home. Although every now and then, I am thankful for the age of social media, for it gives us the opportunity to share amazing things that we see, adding another dimension to our thought processes and beliefs.
After reading a heart warming email from an old friend, I took some time to peruse my feed. Something I haven’t done in a very long time. But today is one of those days that I am grateful for the gift of sharing (responsibly) things that inspire us all.
I came across this amazing video via Upworthy by Dancing Shoes Productions featuring Prince EA. If you haven’t yet subscribed to Upworthy, you will do so after watching this clip. My words can do no justice to its contents.

stolen everything that we ever need.”- Prince EA
